with a guided tour + self tours to the
UCLA Meteorite Collection/Gallery!
Saturday, June 18, 2021, 10 AM PDT (Online-only Morning Session) Afternoon In-person / hybrid Session starts at 1 PM PDT
2021-2022 marked another impressive year in Planetary Defense and Asteroid Exploration! We invite you and your family to get together, in person or online, in our Annual Gathering / Assembly on Planetary Defense and Asteroid Exploration this year (2022)! We are so excited to arrange a guided tour (plus self-tours) during the event to the amazing UCLA Meteorite Gallery! You will get close encounters in front of your eyes with actual objects from space to see and touch! You will also get to hear leading experts and scientists of the Earth/Solar System from UCLA EPSS, Aerospace Corp., NASA, and more, to learn about the exciting progresses like NASA’s DART Mission, JAXA’s Hayabusa2 etc. You will also learn about mitigation of the asteroid hazard, along with updates on the observation / tracking. Join this fun filled event that brings us closer to subject(s), issues, and threats/readiness on Planetary Defense.
